the question is:

can all quadratics/2-term trinomials be expressed in factor form? give examples of how you got the answer.
include discrminant.

example of an equation is x^2+3=6.

please help this is a journal so could you explain what is asked and how to approach the answer.it's due on tuesday!!

What are your thoughts?

What does your class-notes/textbook say?

Did you do a "google" search? look at the "wiki" reference?

Re: MATH JOURNAL HELP!!!

What is a journal?. Do you have to write from an article?.

A two term trinomial?. Is that like a two-wheeled tricycle?.

If it has two terms it is a binomial. Like \(\displaystyle x^{2}-9, \;\ x^{2}+1\), etc..

If I read correctly, they are just asking if all quadratic binomials can be factored.

Do you know what importance the discriminant holds?.

in a journal, i just have to state the answer and how i came to that. i don't think it asks for a binomial.but i am kind of confused, i'm not sure what the question is asking. so i just want to know how to get started.

sorry, i think you're right. it is a binomial. can you factor one for me, so i can see one example.

I was just ribbing a little about the trinomial thing.

You've never factored?. If not, then that is too broad of a topic for me to tackle here.

But the discriminant tells a lot.

Do a google search. There is lots out there. Good luck.

Perhaps you need to go back and investigate what you've done SO FAR in your journal.

A binomial has TWO terms.

A trinomial has THREE terms.

There is NO SUCH THING as a two-term trinomial.

There is NO SUCH THING as a two-term trinomial.

x^2 + (ax - b)

Is this a trinomial or a binomial or a two-term trinomial or a three-term binomial or something else?

What is the definition of a "term"?
