2-x>17

solve the proportion. x/5= 16/10

simplify 5(-3x+3)

simplity(82-60)+[(-3x4)-36divide 4

write 12,767 in base sixteen

dose anyone know how to do this and can help me understand these prombles .

Kathy, are you a student attending math classes? What grade?

First of all, i believe the correct word it college. Second, I believe I can help you with your problem.

2-x>17......... This is the beginning equation.

-x>15........... I simplified the equation by subtracting two from 17

x<-15........... I know that the sign changes, but I am not sure if the - transfers.

If you have any more questions just post. :D

To solve

2 - x < 17

Add x to both sides of the equation:

2 - x + x < 17 + x

Since -x + x is 0, you'll have just 2 on the left side:

2 < 17 + x

Now, to get x by itself, add (-17) to both sides of the inequality, since 17 + (-17) is 0:

2 + (-17) < 17 + x + (-17)

-15 < x

This inequality tells you that x must be greater than -15.

To simplify 5(-3x + 3), multiply each term inside the parentheses by the 5 which is outside:

5*(-3x) + 5*3

-15x + 15

Since these are not like terms, there's nothing more you can do.
