if a painting sells for 240,000 and the artist took about 10 weeks to complete it, how valuable is the artists time if she worked every day for four hours?

Step by step problem:

If she worked every day for four hours, and there are 7 days in a week, how many hours did she work in a week?

Take that number, multiply it by ten, and you'll get the total number of hours she worked in 10 weeks. We'll call that number n.

So she gets 240,000 for working n hours, so how much for working 1 hour?

I have another one

A grandmother and her granddaughter are comparing their ages. The grandmother is 70 years older than twice the grandaughters age and together they lived 88 years. How old is each?

Next time, start a NEW thread for a new problem...

x = granddaughter's age; then grandma's age = 70 + 2x

granddaughter + grandma = 88

Can you finish it?
If not, you haven't been paying attention in class...
