I'm a parent of a 7th grader. Having problems solving this: You and 2 friends go to a fitness club to walk laps. To walk each lap takes: Jackie 60 sec, Frank 48 sec, you 72 sec. If you begin walking at 9AM what time will it be when all three are at the starting point again, together? How many laps has each person walked at this point? I don't know if this is a fraction problem or what? Thank you. :-o

Fractions will come into play, when calculating each person's number of laps, but that part comes later.

Your 7th grader needs to find the Least Common Multiple (LCM) of the numbers 48, 60, and 72. That is, the smallest Whole number that is evenly divisible by 48, 60, and 72.

That number of seconds is how long it takes for all three persons to meet at the starting point.

If your 7th grader needs more help, is it possible for them to communicate with us directly?

Cheers
