hello guys, I need some help on these problems. I am going to number them and then if you guys know the answer then please put the number of the question, the work u did and the answer. I have all the answers but i want them to be checked, because i cant get them checked for a while.
THIS- ^ MEANS IM GONNA MAKE A POWER SO x^3 MEANS "X TO THE THIRD POWER"
3. x^2-8x+2=0 (x^2 is x to the second power)
4. GRAPH y=2x-5
5. GRAPH -5<x (im guessing this is on a line at the 5, with an open circle, wih an arrow going to the right, am i right?)
6. write .0000644 in scientific notation
10. If y varies inversely as x and x=3 when y=7, find the equation relating x and y (im guessing this is x+4=7, im not sure though)
11. write the equation of a line parallel to y=2/3x-6
13. solve the system of equations: 2x-37=13
5x+3y=1
14. write 4.74 X 10^5 (10^5 means 10 to the 5th power)
15. FACTOR x^2-11x+28 (x^2 means x to the second power)
16. what is the intersection of the lines x=5 and y= -2
20. Rewrite in standard form: y=(-2/3)x=5
21. graph the function: f(x)= x^2+5x+6 (x^2 is x to the second power)
22. what are the zero's of the function in number 21?
24. solve for x: 5/9=3x/16 (these are fractions not division)
25. parallel lines have _______ y interecepts.
26.intersecting lines have ______ slopes.
29. Factor: x^2=4x+3 (x^2 is x to the second power)
30. Simplify: 2x(3x+6)+ 6x(x-1)
31. solve the system of equations: x-y=13
x+y=8
32. GRAPH -x^2-4x=4
33. solve the equation in number 32
34. write in DECIMAL notation: 1.03 X 10^-5 (10^-5 means 10 to the negative 5th power)
36. simplify: (3x)^-2
______
x^4
37. if y varies DIRECTLY as x and x=3 when y=7, find the equation relating x and y.
38. factor: x^2+8x-33
45. Is this graph a function?

(the bold line is the line, the otehr two lines, the dotted and the one with the little arrows are the graph.

and just an overall question, when u have a problem like this-
(x+81)^2 (the ^2 is 2, the exponent), does that come out x^2=81 or X^3=81?? thanks, u just dont know if u add or multiply on those and all those rules with exponents nad parenthateses.
