Hello! I am in the agriculture department in graduate school and every week, Monday morning, a different teacher comes to teach the class relating to that teacher's department. The agriculture department includes an engineering section and that teacher came this week. I have no background in engineering or math related subjects so this problem he assigned for homework has me stumped. Also, this is all in Japanese and I don't have experience translating engineering terms...I have no idea where to begin with this problem. I believe I may have to input the numbers from the table into the equation to produce a number to use as a point in a line graph? Let me translate as best as possible and hopefully someone may be able to help. Thank you.

Soil Tensionσ - Strainε Formula

(formula is attached as picture for easier understanding)
attachment.php

σₒ: Initial compression tension (Pa)
eₒ: Initial void ratio (No unit)
n: Frame construction's hardening index number (no unit)
K: Frame construction's hardening factor (same unit as σ)

Test Conditions:
Sample: Steel grid
Grain/Particle Density: p=7398Kg/m3
Maximum void ratio: e(max)= 1.29, Minimum void ratio e(min)=0.79
Grain diameter: D=0.42-0.85mm
Specimen size: Diameter Ꝕ=60mm, Initial layer thickness Hₒ=25mm
Initial void ratio: eₒ= 1.238
-Lists of Compression Tension (σ and -σ) and then Void Ratio (e)

and lastly, an example of graphs (I suppose examples of similar graphs but different units?).

I hope this falls into the category of calculus. Or 'other math' or 'advanced math' or something like that might be more appropriate? Sorry for my lack of understanding. Thank you for reading.
