M = ?

You're on the wrong side of zero. They specifically ask for a positive M.

Even if you missed that instruction, you should have realized that you need to find a value for M such that when x is GREATER than M, the absolute difference between f(x) and 5 is less than 1/10.

In other words, x must be to the right of M, to get the graph of f(x) within five vertical units of the horizontal asymptote.

This does not happen on the negative side, unless x is on the left side of M.

Therefore, find the positive solution for x below, and then add 0.00001 to the result.

|fx) - 5| = 1/10

If you're still confused, try looking at a graph of function f.

I *think* I understand how to do this. I came up with -300.99999 but I need to make sure thats right. Can someone explain how to do this problem:

If I did this wrong, can you explain how to do it correctly? Thanks a lot!

That is not correct

|[5*(-305.99999)/(-299.99999)]| > 5 >> 1/10

Please show how did you get the answer - so that we can correct your mistake.
