Hello, i am trying to complete an substitution excercice where a = 5 and b = -2 the result should be 30. I know my priority rules and apply them but i get 90 instead of 30 as my result.
Could somebody help me solve this step by step so i can see where my mistake is?Thanks in advance
Again, a=5 and b=-2

-3ab (a+2b)^2

For us to be able to help you find your mistake, we'd first need to see what you did.

a=5 and b=-2

-3ab (a+2b)^2
Were you careful with the "minus" sign? You should have started something like this:

. . . . .-3(5)(-2) ((5) + 2(-2))2

. . . . .-3(-10) (5 + (-4))2

...and so forth.
