Looking for geometry-oriented drawing software.

Can anyone recommend free software which is convenient for geometric, both 2D and 3D, drawings? I've been using Inkscape on and off, but don't find it too convenient for these tasks.

But it might depend on just what sort of drawing you have in mind.
