looking for a resource for self help

Hello,
I been having a little trouble with the type of problems below. I cannot find any examples in my math book nor can I find any resources online that explain a process. I keep running into triganomic pages with cos and sin problems. If anyone knows an example I can look at so I can work on some problems that would be great.

⁵ √4a^3k+2 + ⁵ √8a^6-k = 2a⁴ solve for k



I tried bringing both sides to the 5th power to remove the radicals then combine terms which creates 32a^2k+8 =32a²⁰
One, I want to read up on this so I know if I am even doing it correctly. Two, I am indifferent on how I am going to isolate k.
Your help is appreciated and ty in advance.

If that's correct, why not just finish? 2k+8 = 20

How did you get it to that? You didn't include any of your work.

As typed, this equation is ambiguous.

You need to type grouping symbols around each radicand; otherwise, we cannot determine what the equation is supposed to be.
