I was sick during the Logs and Surds lessons and I have a H.W that needs to be collected tomorrow. I would like an answer and if you can even a brief explaniation.

Solve for x if : 2log(2-x)-log(x+2)=logx

Solve simultaneously : 2log2(2 subscript)x = y
log2(subscript) 2x = y+4

Simplify the following as much as possible :
5√20+2√45
(3√3-6)^2
4(√3-1)-√3(7-2√3)

Rationalise the denominators for the following :
15/√15

11/5-√3

2-5√3/7√3+4

Thanks.

You already have loads of worked examples and explanations in your book and in whatever class notes you got from a friend. Since they left you unable even to get started, then our doing this homework assignment obviously wouldn't help you learn the material. So I won't be doing that.

The topics, being simplifying radical expressions of various sorts, solving logarithmic equations, and solving systems of non-linear equations, require a few weeks' time, so clearly you've been out of class for quite a while. I'm sorry you were ill for so long.

Please reply with the sequence of topics (as listed in the syllabus) that you have missed. Also, please specify if there were any other topics, from before you were out sick, that you didn't understand. Then we can try to find you some lesson links. By spending a few hours a day for the next week or so, you may be able to get caught up to your class.

Thank you! ;-)

I only missed 2 lessons. My friend just sent me a paper with the H.W and didn't give me any notes.
I missed the Logarithms and the Surds lessons.

Wow. They covered two textbook chapters in two days. That's... Wow.

As was mentioned previously, since all the worked examples in your book left you unable even to start, one more example obviously won't help. Have you ever worked with radicals or logarithms before, or would you like us to try to find you some online lessons that start from the beginning of each topic? Thank you! ;-)

I only know the rules of Logarithms. Yes please.

"Yes, please", provide lesson links? Or something else?

You "only know" which "rules of Logarithms"? The definition of logs? The rules for expanding or compressing log expressions? I'll err on the side of caution and start at the beginning:

. . . . .Google results for "logarithms definitions"

. . . . .Google results for "logarithms rules"

. . . . .Google results for "how to solve logarithmic equations"

. . . . .Google results for "solving systems of nonlinear equations"

Please study at least two lessons from each link. Then please attempt the log exercises. If you get stuck, please reply showing what you've tried and how far you've gotten. Thank you! ;-)
