Local or Absolute min/max

hi im confused as to the points that the arrows are pointing to being 1. absolute or local 2. maximum or minimum... I'm confused about both functions

ABSOLUTE means it is the highest point, no graph above it, or the lowest point no graph below it. While LOCAL, there is graph above the point or below the point.
 
so the second function would be absolute max and min and the first function would be local? also for the first function, I'm not sure if they'd be maxes or mins
 
You're correct.

For the first function, the top part contains the LOCAL min, and the below part contains the LOCAL max.
