I see there is a green dot by the name when that person is in the Forum. Is it allowed (encouraged/discouraged) to communicate directly with the author of the question?
If we use a whiteboard (the free one I know about is Scriblink, http://www.scriblink.com/), then the tutor could open a session, and communicate the link either in a post or by IM to the student. If the student cut&pastes the link into his/her browser, thus joining that session, then problems can be worked out and corrected in real time.
Is this of interest?
