ok so I have a large assignment to do for data management class, its due tomorrow.
the question asks us to use the linear models created in a previous question to predict another data point.
I am trying to use the formula y=ax+b
so...the problem that I am having is that the question provides the dependant variable 'y', and we are expected to find x.
I have tried many things, like replacing 'y' with the number and rearraging the equation...but yeah Ive been completely unsuccessful
any help would be great.
so basically my question is....
how do you predict the independant variable (x) when you are only given the dependant variable(y)?
