What is the matrix representing a reflection of the Cartesian plane in the line y = -x followed by a reflection in the y-axis?
I drew pictures representing:
*First reflecting (x,y) in the y-axis to get (-x,y)
*I then projected this onto the x-axis to get (-x,0)
*I then rotated this anti-clockwise by pi/4
I used these above steps to represent the reflection in the line y = -x
*I then reflected this point in the y-axis.
*I obtained a matrice by multiplying each of the matrices of the above transformations.
My answer however was wrong. Is there anything wrong with my above steps?
