Hi

I am new o this forums and haven't done maths in a while and I am just looking for some directions.

If you look at the attached chart, is it possible to predict the next percentage.

It does not have to be accurate
If anybody can just point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it

I don't know what you mean by "it doesn't have to be accurate". You have to be seeking some accuracy or you could just arbitrarily pick some number as your "prediction". That is extremely non-linear so you certainly won't get very much accuracy but the simplest thing to do is to choose two points (x, y) on your graph and then find numbers a and b such that y= ax+ b is satisfied for both points. Of course, that will depend strongly on what two points are chosen.

What I meant by it does not have to accurate is that it does not have to be pin point accurate.

I haven't done maths in over 10 years, all i need is reading equipment for me to figure out the problem.

'the simplest thing to do is to choose two points (x, y) on your graph and then find numbers a and b such that y= ax+ b'
I have no idea how to find a or b. An simple example would help

Well, it's a little hard to read the numbers on your graph but it looks like, on the left, x= 1 while y= -90 and on the right, x= 990 while y= 0. If you want a straight line, y= ax+ b, you must have -90= a(1)+ b while 0= a(990)+ b. Subtracting one equation from the other, 0- (-90)= 990a- a+ b- b or 90= 989a so that a= 90/989= 0.091. Then -90= a+ b= 0.091+ b so that b= -90.091.

y= 0.091x- 90.091 will give the general trend.

What I meant by it does not have to accurate is that it does not have to be pin point accurate.
How is "accurate" defined? What is being measured? What are the inputs and outputs? What is the context? What future influences are expected?

...all i need is reading equipment for me to figure out the problem.
What does this mean? What is "the problem", exactly?
