Ok first off i'm kind of puzzled

I have a question that says 1) Graph the linear function by finding x-intercept and y-intercept of 3x+5y=-15

I Did the problem and got the x intercept as 1. I plugged in the 1 to solve for y and I got -3.6 But isn't the b always the y intercept?? so it would be y=-3/5x-3 and the y intercept would be -3. So my question is it -3 or -3.6 for the y intercept. Or am I doing it completely wrong

Also another answer I need rectified is; 2.Graph the linear function by finding slope and y-intercept of y=-5/2 +2 The slope is -5/2 so is the y intercept 2?? Why Is it different from the last problem???Or is b always the y intercept.

Ok now we're on to another subject which i'm just so confused on I tried it for hours I just don't know what to do.

a) Find domain of the function ( write an answer In set builder notation) I got D {x|-8 Is less than or equal to x is less then or equal to 7}

b) Find the range of the function I got R{y|-6 is less than or equal to y Is less than equal to 8.}

c) Find the member of the range of the function (Find the function value at x=2 or f(x)

d) Find the member of the domain that is paired with -3 (find the domain value x, when f(x)=-3

And these problems I just don't understand

Solve system of equations using any appropriate method

(a){9x-2y=3
{3x-6=y

(b) {5x-3y=24
{3x+5y=28

(c) {6s+9t=12
{4s+6t=5

(d) {12-6y=-15
{-4x+2y=5

(e) {x-y-z=0
{2x-3y+2z=7
{-x+2y+z=1

Also one last thing (a) the graph of x=c is ( ) line that crosses ( ) axis at a point ( , ).

Would really be thankful if you guys could help me out, I've been studying all night.

How? You plugged zero in for y, obtained the new equation 3x = -15, and... then what?

2.Graph the linear function by finding slope and y-intercept of y=-5/2 +2
Where is the "x" in the above equation?

I just don't know what to do.

What methods for solving systems did you learn in class?

What did you get when you graphed this line?

Thank you! ;)

Hi Stapel, I found out the first two answers I just need help with this problem it says the Function value at x = 2 or f(x) or the member of the range paired with two.

And for the domain that is paired with -3 it says the domain value x, f(x) =-3

What methods for solving systems did you learn in class?
Also for the last problems I have no idea how to figure it out, i've been trying for hours, he wants us to use two different ways to do it, for whichever way is more efficient; substitution method and elimination method.

What did you get when you graphed this line?
And this is just a vocabulary fill in the blank question.
:p

Elimination and substitution method.

for the 4 problems.

And the domain and and range says find the member of the range that is paired with 2. ( find the function value at x = 2 or f(x))

Find the member of the domain that is paired with -3 ( find the domain value x when f(x)=-3)

You keep talking about f(x) but you will not state what it is. You will not receive any help in that case.
If y=mx+b and x=0, then y=b. So (0,b) is on the line. Any point that has x=0 will be on the y axes, so yes, b is always the the y-intercept.
