3/4x - 1/2(x+5)=2

and 3x/2 +1/4(x-2)=10

I'm so lost that its not even funny. I hate fractions. Please anyone get me on the right path. Not quite sure what the LCD is supposed to be in each problem and how to multiply it. Thanks

(3/4)x - (1/2)(x + 5) = 2

What is the LCD of 3/4 and 1/2?

4, right?

So if we multiply both sides of the equation by 4 we have

3x - 2(x + 5) = 8

which is a little bit nicer (although I'm tempted to have you go down the adding fractions route; they're not evil).

Are you ok to proceed?

The second equation is not dissimilar.
