THis is the equation: 4x-[3-5(-x)]=10-(4x-9)
CAn you please walk me through how to work this?

Work from the inside out. Simplify -5(-x). Combine with the 3. Simplify -[3 + 5x]. Combine with the 4x. On the other side, simplify -(4x - 9). Combine with the 10. Then solve as usual.

Do you know that various grouping symbols are all equivalent? (), [], {} and some lines. It's just another way to group things. If you are used to parentheses, (), just treat them all like parentheses.
