I really need help with these 5 problems! I have to graph them. So its very hard!

1. y = x - 2
2. y = x + 4
3. y = -3x
4. y = 2x
5. y=2x + 2

Thanks SOOOOOO Much!

Well, you MUST know something about one of these things or ...

1) Making a table and finding points on a set of coordinate axes.
2) Point-Slope form of a line.

How shall we go about it?

Making a table and finding points on a set of coordinate axes. Thats What you do. LOL sorry!

Can you do that? That's a good way to start, just to get used to how things work, but that is not a good way to be the last way you learn.

Do you know the point-slope form? Making a table will give you a couple of points. Using the point-slope form will give you a couple of points in a different way. At some point, you should figure out that it takes only two points and your line is sompletely defined. Once you figure that out, you can immediately sketch millions of points!!

Let look at the first one......
y = x - 2

select a range of values(easy numbers) for x.
Try x = 1 , then
y= (1) -2
y= -1

now you have the first point (1, -1)

Repeat this with some more x values(you pick and only need a total of 2 points) and place these in the equation to find the matching y point.

Then plot these points ----success.
Do the same for the remaining equations.
