I have been tearing my hair out the last 2 hours trying to find the equations to this word problem. Every time I come up with a set of equations, it ends up giving me a negative number no matter the combination I try. Please, someone help?
"Luis and Phil decide to go to a hot air balloon race. On their way to the race, they make a bet on which balloon they think will win. Luis bets on the Reno balloon and Phil bets on the Vegas Balloon. Once they get to the race, they realize that it has already started. Speaking with another spectator, they find out that the Reno Balloon is 95 feet above ground and rising at 40 feet per minute. The Vegas Balloon is only 30 feet above the ground but is rising 50 feet per minute. Write a system of linear equations that describe the problem. Let y represent the height of the balloon and x represent minutes."
