The question is
-suppose that x ounces of a solution that is 60% acid are combined with y ounces of a 90% acid solution. How many ounces of acid are in the 60% solution? I don't understand what to do! Please help!

Do you understand what "60%" means? If you have 100 bushels of apples and 60% are "Granny Smith" apples, how many bushels of "Granny Smith" apples do you have? If you have x bushels of apples and 60% are "Granny Smith" apples, how many bushels of "Granny Smith" apples do you have?
