Hi everybody!
I would like to ask a quick but important question for my understanding of this problem:
(I roughly translate from German)
Considering the vectors:
a = (5,2,-1)
b = (3,2,1)
c = (1,2,3)
We assume that a is a linear combination of the vectors b and c such that:
a = xb + yc
a) Determine the factors x and y through the use of of different scalar products from the equation.
My question is: what kind of scalar product should I be using? I made a simple system of linear equations and immediately got x = 2 and y = -1, but that didn't include scalar product. Is there another way that I am not aware of? :?:
Thank you in advance for your answers.
J.
