here is my question with work is it correct

Find the limit. lim (x approaches -8^-) (-3x)/(x+8)

my work

As x approaches -8^-, -3x approaches 24 while x+8 approaches 0^-

Our limit is -infinity.

Does this look right?

You can check your answer by plotting the graph.

If you have a graphing calculator - that should be breeze.

the answer -infinity.

the reason is as x approaches -8 from the left on the graph it goes to -infinity.
