I know I need to use f(x + h) - f(x) / h

Simply expand out and see.

\(\displaystyle \L\\\lim_{x\to0}\frac{h^{3}-3h^{2}+3h}{h}\)

Factor h from the numerator, cancel, and you can see your limit.
