Let f(x) =x^2+x+11. What is the value of f(x) for which the tangent line of the graph of f(x) is parellel to the x axis?

Sum 1 help me please im in elementary calc and it really hard i need help

If the tangent line is parallel to the x-axis, then it has a 0 slope.

Differentiate f(x), set to 0 and solve for x.

Graph your function. That'll help.

Is this due to a break down of society, the schools, or both?.

In calculus, yet can't put a sentence together. How sad

The University of Kentucky is one of the better public universities in the American South. So either you have been horribly ill advised or you have a valid complaint. Go see the chair of the mathematics department on next Tuesday. Explain you problem. It is that easy.
