Hi
I was wondering if you could tell me why Lagrange Multipliers are nonnegative? I think it is because we are looking at something that can never be negative, but I just don't know how to put it into "mathematical" terms.

Thank you
Take care,

R has the same sign as S

\(\displaystyle \L R = \lambda * S\)

Tell me the sign of \(\displaystyle \L \lambda\).

Well if R has the same sign as S, then it must be positive "+"

Thanks!

OOps, I mean... if R has the same sign as S, then lambda must be positive!
