Wondering if anyone can help me answer the following question.

Every problem which contains a percent can be restated as: "A certain amount (A) is a percent (P) of a beginning base amount (B)". What is the significance of the words is and of, and what are the three possible equations that can result from this?

I know the is refers to usually the equal sign, and the word of generally means multiplication.

I'm having problems finding the 3 possible equations that can result.

What is the significance of the words is and of, → replace "is" with "=" and "of" with "*" (multiplication)

Now continue.....

You have three variables: A, P, B. If you can write one equation, say in the form A = (something), then that equation can be rearranged a couple of other ways: B = (something), P = (something).
