Hi,
I was hoping if anyone could tell me how you calculate \(\displaystyle \frac{d^2 f}{dxdy}\) and \(\displaystyle \frac{d^2 f}{dydx}\) for say \(\displaystyle f(x,y)=x^3\ +\ y^3\ -3x\ -12y\ +\ 20\)

Also does anyone know how to calculate the determinant of a jacobian matrix. i've worked out that the matrix is a 3 by 3 matrix and it has a 0 value for the bottom right value. thnx.

Question: Have you ever found a partial derivative? That would be where to start.

The left-to-right order in teh denominator normally is the order to proceed.
