Given isosceles trapezoid ????, diagonals ?? and ?? intersect at ?. Given that ?? = 2 and ?? = 5,
find (AE/EC)(BE/ED).

I can’t come up with a way to solve for the other pair of sides.

someone sent me this solution; what does the ‘~’ indicate between the relation of the two triangles? i can’t seem to understand how that turned out to be the ratio.
Please post your work so we can help you.

We know that \(\overline{AB}\|\overline{DC}\) HOW & WHY?
Using the properties of parallels and \(AAA\), show that \(\Delta ABE~\&~\Delta CDE\) are similar.
