Hi,

I've a math problem on my Grade 11 University Physic course

the equation is

120 = 1/2(15+x)5.60

I'm trying to isolate "x" in the bracket but I can't do it

Please help

Thanks

120 = 1/2(15+x)5.60

This shouldn't be too bad for a physics student.

\(\displaystyle 120=\frac{1}{2}(15+x)\cdot 5.6\)

Multiply by 2:

\(\displaystyle 240=(15+x)\cdot 5.6\)

Divide by 5.6:

\(\displaystyle \frac{300}{7}=15+x\)

\(\displaystyle x=\frac{195}{7}\)

Thank you so much galactus,

before you posting just a couple of minutes I just figure out the way to solve this problem hehe

took me long just because I was doing it in a quick way and always give me wrong result.

What I did is

120 = 1/2(15+x)5.60

isolate "x"

2(120) = (15+x)5.60
------------------------

240/5.60 = 15 + x

---------------------

43 - 15 = x

the result will be 28

which is the right answer !!!

wow so happy haha

Thanks once again for the reply but so proud that I got it before someone post LOL

now I will always keep in mind do it step by step will always safe and right!!
