invertible matrices and cryptography

I´ve got a problem. I do know how to prove that a matrix A is invertible only if det(A) is not 0, BUT;
in cryptography i need to prove that if gcd(26, det(K))=1 then the matrix K is invertible.
I have no idea how to do that?!

Of course the assumption is that we are dealing with Z_26.
