What is the largest four-digit number such that the second digit is one fourth of the third digit, the third digit is twice the first digit, and the last digit is the same as the first digit? Here is another one now the problem is how do you get what the first number? I am dumb founded about problems like these.

Relax! Go at it step by step:

> the second digit is one fourth of the third digit
? 1 4 ?
? 2 8 ?
Only possibilities; agree?

> the third digit is twice the first digit
2 1 4 ?
4 2 8 ?
That was easy!

> and the last digit is the same as the first digit
2 1 4 2
4 2 8 4
Howzz dat?
