Use the square root property to solve.
This is the problem.
y ^(2) = 20
This is my answer: {2 (radical 5,) - 2 (radical 5)}
Is this answer correct?

Yep.
\(\displaystyle y = \pm \sqrt{20} = \pm \sqrt{4 \cdot 5} = \pm \sqrt{4} \cdot \sqrt{5} = \pm 2\sqrt{5}\)

You should be able check the answer yourself!

Square those numbers and see if those equal to 20.
