integration problem...please help

/ (x)/(x^4 + 2x^2 + 2) dx


could someone please point me in the right direction on this problem. I think complete the square might be involved but Im not sure how I could use it to evaluate the integral.

Yep; complete the square and consider a trig substitution.

x^4+2x^2+2=(x^2+1)(x^2+1)+1=(x^2+1)^2+1

Now let u=x^2+1
