ok, i'm confused about how to approach this so any help would be appreciated!

A point on a vibrating string oscillates according to x(t) = 0.016 sin(3pi/2 (*t)) inches (t in milliseconds). What's the average position of the point during the first millisecond? What's the average position of a point during the first full minute of vibration? Estimate what the average position would be over a very long time interval.

ever hear of the average value of a function?

\(\displaystyle \L x_{avg} = \frac{1}{t_2 - t_1} \int_{t_1}^{t_2} x(t) dt\)

given that a and b are constants ...

\(\displaystyle \L \int a \sin{(bt)}dt = -\frac{a}{b}\cos{(bt)} + C\)
