If the integrand is really just \(\displaystyle e^2,\) then what is \(\displaystyle e^2\)? Is there any variable in the integrand, or is it just a numerical value? If the latter, then what is the integral of any constant numerical value? ;)

you use the constant rule

ax + C where 'a' is a constant

yours is e^2 which is 7.39......., which is a constant

so you would write
(e^2)x +C since 7.3890561x +C would be messy and not 100% accurate since e^2 goes on for a really long time if not to infinity

another example would be:

integrate 3^2 dx would be (3^2)x +C = 9x+C

another you see on test and quizzes is integrate PI^2dx which is (PI^2)x +C

candy101, it would be nice if you would verify that you meant "\(\displaystyle \int e^2 dx\)" rather than "\(\displaystyle \int e^{2x}dx\)" or even "\(\displaystyle \int e^{x^2}dx\)".
