Absolute Value of 8x-8 = Absolute Value of 5x+3

How do I solve this? I know that there can be 2 solutions for each of the absolute values but I have no idea how to do this....

Please share your work/thoughts with us - so that we know where to begin to help you..

Assuming your problem is:

|8x - 8| = |5x + 3|

Hint:

Square both sides and continue....

Your subject line refers to "inequalities", but the above is an equation...?

Also, do you mean any of the following?

. . . . .|8x| - 8 = |5x| + 3

. . . . .|8x - 8| = |5x| + 3

. . . . .|8x| - 8 = |5x + 3|

. . . . .|8x - 8| = |5x + 3|

I'm sorry, but I don't understand what you mean by this...?

Please reply with clarification, including a clear listing of your thoughts and steps so far. Thank you! :D
