Hi, can someone please help me with this question:

Are the vectors linearly independent or dependent:
u= (1,-1,-2)
v=(2,-1,3)
w=(-1,2,-1)

I can use any method to find it

thanks for the help

There are several ways to find that. What method have you been taught?

One of the methods is, to find:

\(\displaystyle U\cdot (V\)x\(\displaystyle W)\)

Re: Independent/dependent vectors

Yeah I've learned that.

If that gives you zero, then they are dependent?

What does your notes/books say?

What does that product "physically" mean?
