I have been working on this math problem ALL day and can not figure out how to solve it. Can someone PLEASE help me? I don't want the answer...Just the way to solve it.

Solve for X

X+2=5/3X :shock:

Thanks!

Is that (5/3)x or 5/(3x)?. If it is the first then set it up as:

x-5x/3=-2

Multiply through by three to eliminate the fraction:

3x-5x=-6

-2x=-6

x=3

If it is the second, it's a little tougher:

x+2=5/(3x)

->3x(x+2)=5

3x^2+6x=5

3x^2+6x-5=0, use the quadratic equation to solve.
