In a typical newspaper, 4 pages are printed on one piece of newsprint. If the last page of a section of a newspaper is page 24, how many pieces of newsprint are in that section of the newspaper?

if it help you can try to think about this problem with smaller numbers and try to come up with a way of solving it.

for example if they had 2 pages printed on each piece of news print and they had 4 pages.

news print 1 page 1 page 2
news print 2 page 3 page 4

that would make 2 pieces of newsprint.

So that was really dividing the 2 stories on each news print by the 4 pages in total. 4/2=2.

So in your example

In a typical newspaper, 4 pages are printed on one piece of newsprint. If the last page of a section of a newspaper is page 24, how many pieces of newsprint are in that section of the newspaper?

24/4
