Hey guys,

Sorry i didnt know where else to post this thread.
Do you guys know the book basic engineering mathematics by john bird ?
Well since im on vacation til september i decided to give it a try. This book has 39 chapters the last one being graphs with logarithmic scales. im not sure but i think its supposed to cover all the basis from elementary school to 12th grade (a-levels) scientific section. chapters one and two took me 2 full days. How much time do you think the whole book gonna take me ? Can i make it in less than 2 months ? Secondly once id have reached that level how far will I be from linear algebra and able to start machine learning ?
No need to inform me that theres a higher engineering mathematics volume i have it already and it looks scary. But i cant wait to start it.

I question if you can cover everything in less than 2 month. The reason I say this is that it took you two full days to cover the easiest two chapters. Based on that some chapters will take more than one full day and that will make it close.

The other issue is how well you want to learn each chapter. You can spend one day on each chapter if you like but that is not the best way if you are not fully learning the material.

I like how you think man. Actually someone in my family told me itd take me years thats why im asking.
The reason it took me the whole day is because when im done understanding i then explain it to myself on video which involves text presentation. Lots of filming and even refilming sometimes. Otherwise its going smoothly so far. We ll see about the log and exp stuff that seems like another story.

It will NOT take years! It will not even be close to 6 months if you spend hours per day. Take as much time as you need to learn it well!
