There are various methods listed in the book, but they're not working. Or I'm doing them incorrectly.

cot squared x / csc x - 1 = 1 + sin x / sin x
 
hint ...

cot<sup>2</sup>x = csc<sup>2</sup>x - 1 = (cscx + 1)(cscx - 1)
