The notation is poor.
Which of these does it mean: \(\displaystyle 12\cdot s\cdot u\cdot t\text{ or }s\cdot u^3\cdot t^4~?\).

THnx for your help...
I literally just copied that question from a MAth Test sample. I have a employment test I've scheduled. What I'm trying to do is find out what type/ kind of math problem this is. So I can better prepare. So this is the Sample Math problem and those are the multiple choice options. Anyones insight would be appreciated.

If su3t4 >0, which of the following products must be positive?

(a) su
(b) st
(c) ut
(d) sut
(e) su2

ooooohhhh...sorry I didnt realize the exponents dot look like exponents when I did the cut an paste

Ok I attached a .pdf file with the whole test. The problem I'm asking about is #5..

Sorry..Thnx again

Here it is.. Thnx

I would call it a problem of deduction - so it is a what.

If\(\displaystyle su^3t^4 >0\), which of the following products must be positive?
\(\displaystyle (a) su,~(b) st,~(c) ut,~(d) sut,~(e) su^2\)
Please take note on how important posting correctly is.
Using some simple LaTeX code makes you post readable.
[TEX]su^3t^4>0[/TEX] gives \(\displaystyle su^3t^4>0\)

I would call this a concept question. It it is about the concepts of how signs have an effect on multiplication of fractors and powers.
We are given that \(\displaystyle su^3t^4>0\). But we know that no matter what \(\displaystyle t^4\ge 0.\)
Moreover, \(\displaystyle su~\&~su^3\) must have the same sign for any values of \(\displaystyle s~\&~u\).
Therefore, which of the distractors is the correct answer?

THnx for the help...

The correct answer is a)su

I just was having a problem with the mathematical classifying of this kind of problem.
