If r^2 is 0.924262, then what is r? I can't remember how to find r when given r^2.

For example, if r is the radius of a circle, then you want the positive square root because radius is a distance and distance is never negative. If r is a rate, then it very well might be negative, depending upon the exercise. If the exercise is purely mathematical, then both roots are required. To determine the actual decimal value of ?0.924262, use technology (eg: calculator, computer). ~ Mark
