If 6 < [ x - 3 ] < 7 and x < 0, what is possible value of x?

If 6 < [x - 3] < 7 and x < 0, what is one possible value of x?

I was going to say 6.5....but it's not possible because x is less than 0 and x - 3 has to fall between 6 and 7 ?? How do you do this????

When you use the brackets [ ]'s, what do you mean by that? If you meant to use the absolute value signs, then it should be solveable. Otherwise, no numbers would actually work since if x < 0, so would x - 3.
