IDENTIFY IF IT IS A FUNCTION:

f(x)=2 if X>1
f(x)=-1 otherwise

huh?????........

Well of course it is a function, the domain is all real numbers
Ask yourself, if r is a real number can I tell what value f(r) will be?
The answer is YES! Can you see why?

thanx

can you write it out for me and show me what you were thinking when you solved it......?

There is no "solving"; there is only "checking the definition".

Please review the tutor's post, wherein the reasoning ("what [he was] thinking") is explained.

Thank you.
