want to see if i got these answers right. i just want to know if it's right or wrong. you don't have to do it for me. thanks!

1) find the domain of the expression
1/?(x-1)
i got {x|x cannot be 1}
i wasn't sure if it was that or {x|x>1} maybe it's neither..

2) simplify the rational expression
x²-x-2/x²-1
i got (x-2)/(x-1)

3) perform the multiplication or diision and simplify
(4y²-9/2y²+9y-18) ÷ (2y²+y-3/y²+5y-6)
i got 1

4) i have to solve by using quadratic equation
5x²-7x+5=0
i got no real solutions

sorry if some of them were confusing.

i wasn't sure if it was that or {x|x>1} maybe it's neither.. So, you really have no answer for us to check, on this one. 8-)

Think about it some more.

Your first guess (that x can be any Real number except 1) is easily tested.

What happens when x = 0?

?
2) simplify the rational expression

(x²-x-2)/(x²-1)

i got (x-2)/(x-1) Correct !

BTW, note the grouping symbols that I inserted into your typing above; they're important.

?
3) perform the multiplication or diision and simplify

([4y²-9]/[2y²+9y-18]) ÷ ([2y²+y-3]/[y²+5y-6])

i got 1 Correct !

4) i have to solve by using quadratic equation

5x²-7x+5=0

i got no real solutions This is correct, if the instructions ask for Real solutions. In other words, if you have not yet been introduced to the imaginary unit i (the square root of -1).

So, this equation has two solutions; they are each Complex numbers with an imaginary part.
