Instead of showing what might have been done with paper and pencil thus far, one may also show "work" by asking a specific question about something that they do not understand in their course materials, related to the exercise at hand.
Or, one may design a specific question to resolve their confusion in the exercise statement.
Or, one may request clarification on symbols or terminology.
The main point is, we like to first see some type of work (AKA: effort) by posters before we make an effort to reply. The more information that posters provide about their situation, the better the responses that they get.
Your exercise deals with something called the Slope-Intercept form of equations for lines.
