Evaluate f(x+h) - f(x) (all over h)

and simplify if f(x)= x^2-2x

Evaluate [f(x + h) - f(x)] / h for f(x) = x2 - 2x.

Plug "x + h" in for the formula for f(x).

. . . . .f(x) = x2 - 2x

. . . . .f(x + h) = [x + h]2 - 2[x + h]

Simplify. From this, subtract f(x). Simplify. Then divide by h. If possible, simplify again.
